Beautiful historical building with well-kept gardens. . Warm welcome from the receptionist. Conveniently located in an attractive medieval town.
Overwhelming stench of dog urine throughout the hotel, especially on the staircase and corridors. . Uncomfortable mattresses and cheap, synthetic bedding, leading to sleepless nights.

Warm and welcoming staff, comfortable and clean rooms. The hotel is located in a picturesque town with charming shops and beautiful views. The food served at the hotel's restaurant was delicious and the coffee was exceptional.
The portion sizes of the meals were too large and off-putting. Additionally, there were some issues with service, such as forgotten dessert orders.

The rooms were spacious and tastefully decorated, with a clean and contemporary bathroom. the staff were warm, friendly, and accommodating, making us feel welcome throughout our stay. We also enjoyed the delicious meals served at the bar, with a wide variety of options to choose from.
We experienced some issues during our stay. the second room we were moved to was quite cold and drafty, which made it difficult to fully enjoy the comfort of the accommodations.

The location was great, right in the heart of a charming village with plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. the staff were friendly and helpful, always willing to assist with any requests. the room was clean and comfortable, with a cozy bed and a spacious bathroom. the breakfast was delicious, with a good variety of options to choose from.
That the menu for dinner didn't change during our stay, so there wasn't much variety if you wanted to dine at the hotel. Another disappointment was that the room was a bit small, especially the bathroom, which made it a bit cramped for two people.

The hotel provides quiet and comfortable accommodation, with friendly and helpful staff. Guests can enjoy exploring the local area on walks and the hotel is dog-friendly. The rooms are nicely decorated, with modern bathrooms and some even have roll top baths. Breakfast is excellent, with plenty of options and efficient and friendly staff. The hotel also has a residents patio and a nice garden area.
The service in the restaurant in the evening could have been a little better.

A delightful stay at a charming hotel with caring and attentive staff. During our visit, we encountered a small issue with our room, but the staff quickly resolved it with utmost professionalism. The dining experience was superb, and the overall comfort exceeded our expectations. If all hotels provided the same level of service as Castle, we would happily choose to stay in the UK for our future trips.

We stayed at The Castle Hotel in Bishop's Castle for one night while exploring the Shropshire Hills. The hotel's beautiful garden and patio area offered stunning views, making it the perfect place to relax. The staff were friendly, helpful, and professional, providing excellent service from check-in to check-out. Our deluxe double room was clean, spacious, and comfortable, with a nice bathroom. The bar had a great selection of drinks, and the food for both dinner and breakfast was delicious, with options for vegetarians and vegans. We also appreciated the hotel's pet-friendly policy, as our dog enjoyed her stay too!
Would recommend this hotel.

What a little gem. The hotel is perfect for walkers looking for a taste of the stunning Shropshire Hills, plus it's pet friendly. From pre check-in, with a courtesy phone call to see how we would like the beds set up, to check out we couldn't have asked for a better service. All the staff we encountered were very professional, friendly and helpful. We stayed in a clean, comfy and spacious deluxe double room with a nice bathroom. The hotel's garden is lovely with beautiful views and plenty of private seating. The bar has a nice range of drinks, and the food was delicious with options for vegetarians and vegans. Lovely stay, would happily go back here again.

Had a fabulous stay at this super friendly hotel in the heart of Bishops Castle. Room No 1 excellent for dog owners, comfortable, nicely decorated, plenty of refreshments warm, and with access to the beautifully landscaped garden & terrace area. Evening dining in a choice of relaxed but smart bar areas creates a friendly environment where the food is of a high quality and complimented by the efficient service. Cooked breakfast was wonderful. We'll be back!
